Quiz Schedule
Tuesday nights at Luke's Icehouse in Beaumont, Texas
Robbi (Plucky, Robbizombie)

I'm a quiz mistress with a dash of sass.  I'm endowed with the gift of gab.  Add a microphone and an ice cold Lone Star and it's a recipe for quizzing madness!  I'm proud to be the original Quiz Master for Southeast Texas and I look forward to meeting all of you.  For fun I like training roller girls and poking dead stuff with sticks.  Come on out to the most fun you can have on a Tuesday.  Bring a friend, you're going to need one!

You guys are awesome!!  You constantly keep me guessing and I love that about you.  What a great night for a quiz... and oh what a round 7 we had.  Let's get to the recap.

Round 1: LBs and LBs of Fun... ALL the answers contain the letters L and B, in that order!  I don't know if I said this enough.  Because there were still a few folks that didn't quite get it at first.  Melba toast is actually pretty good.  Yes, you had to say Rocky Balboa.  Balboa is the only part of the title that fits the category.  I was surprised more people didn't get Jessica Alba.  Round 2: Here, Let Us Ruin That For You... covers by Counting Crows.  Borderline was a tough one.  Sweet Home Alabama was pretty easy.  And it was the first time for Woody Guthrie to pop up in the night.  (See what I did there?)  Round 3: Cats and Dogs... the 50/50 round on our pets.  I totally wish my neighbors would get a basenji.  That dog barks all night.  I'm starting a clowder of cats.  I have the crazy cat lady starter kit.  Round 4: Bindle Fire... a round about hobos.  Most of you really know your hobos.  Two impressive pieces of literature also came along in this round.  I love Steinbeck.  Think about the rabbits Lenny.

Round 5: Coachella Is Getting Desperate...it's all about the fake band in this round.  No, I have never seen Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.  I know.  Cut me some slack.  Round 6: Wham, Bam, and Ma'ams... fairly self explanatory.  I miss Webster.  I'm just putting it out there.  I would also like to go on record as saying that when George Michael came out with his Faith album, I was a huge fan.  Round 7: I've Had It With These Motherfucking Chicks In This Motherfucking Flick... Samuel L. Jackson reviews some of our favorite girly movies.  You guys were great at adaptin to the format.  Look at you being all flexible.  I'm not a chick flick fan.  I would have sucked at this round.  I do love Breakfast At Tiffany's.  Round 8: Random Knowledge.  How long has it been since we have heard from Vince and Larry?  Do they even do PSA's anymore?  I got to tell you all about a MacGuffin as well.  Though Jim and I have slightly different opinions on the definition of the term.

A three way tie for second and third place.  The Professors way, way, way overshot this one.  And when the smoke cleared, the top three teams were Kandis's Fluffy Starfish, Milly & Tilly, and Surprise... Alligator Fuckhouse.  I still maintain that nobody wants to be surprised with an alligator fuckhouse.  But I was happy to see them take the win.  I had a wonderful time with all of you tonight.  Thanks for the birthday shots.  My workday tomorrow is going to be a bit rough.  Can't wait to see you all next week!  Until then, my quiz bunnies... this land is made for you and me.

Robbi xoxo

I'm a quiz mistress with a dash of sass.  I'm endowed with the gift of gab.  Add a microphone and an ice cold Lone Star and it's a recipe for quizzing madness!  I'm proud to be the original Quiz Master for Southeast Texas and I look forward to meeting all of you.  For fun I like training roller girls and poking dead stuff with sticks.  Come on out to the most fun you can have on a Tuesday.  Bring a friend, you're going to need one!

Well that's a wrap you guys!  What great weather we had.  We didn't have as many teams as I normally see, but that's their loss.  The people I really care about were there.  You are the only one for me.

Round 1: Astronauts and Privates... It's all about the TANG in this round.  Some of you didn't catch that when I gave the theme.  Aww, sorry boutcha!  But I think the majority of teams did pretty well on this round.  It's good to start off strong.   Round 2: Boy Bands Never Grow Old... Oh yes they do!  It's so sad to an aging boy band.  But we had some good ones represented here.  One of my fondest memories as a child was my sister and I dancing to a Jackson 5 album in the middle of our living room.  Good times.  Round 3: Your Wallet Does Not Approve... this was our 50/50 round for the night.  Remember?  All you had to tell me was more or less.  I had never heard of an Huracaan before tonight.  I didn't know that Lamborghini made a low end model.  Somebody needs to buy me one.  Round 4: Why Can't I Just Eat It? ... a round on emotions.  A great mention of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.  I love just about anything that Hunter S. Thompson did.  And when I die, I want to be shot out of a cannon as well.

Round 5:  The Birth Of A Nation... where were these presidents born?  It was about half and half on the scores for this round.  Some of you really know your stuff, and the other half are clueless like me.  haha.  Round 6:  Behind Every Bad Man.  What an awesome round!  Well, not for most of you but I was thoroughly entertained.  I think it was the first time in my quizzing history that I had 2 questions on Natural Born Killers in the same round.  How exciting!  I love that movie.  Round 7: Our Movie Is Running About Four Minutes Short... An audio round of joke clips.  Who doesn't love the Boondock Saints?  I don't think it's possible.  However, most of you did not love this round.  Sigh.  I try so hard to keep it interesting. Round 8: Random Knowledge.  I know you guys are much more comfortable with the randomness coming at the end of the quiz.  I was happy to oblige you there. I have 2 things to say about this round... Maroon 5 is a terrible band.  I still miss you Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez.

As the quiz wrapped up... with a very well played joker... Wall Of Voodoo were the winners by a pretty hefty margin!  The Professors came in second and let's face it, it's good to let them win from time to time.  Rounding out the winners, coming in third place, was Kandis's Taco Box.  Many congratulations to all of you.  My favorite team name of the night was Knock, Knock... Who's There? Alligator Fuckhouse!  Classy you guys.  So, until next time my quiz bunnies... I'll make you famous.

  Robbi xoxo

So, how did you like the mixup of the rounds?  Was it a funny joke or what?  I know that my little quiz bunnies are creatures of habit... but it's good to try new things.  Thanks again to all of you for coming out.  Lots of friendly familiar faces, and lots of new friends as well.  I am such a luck quiz mistress.

Round 1: Random Knowledge.  Well, it was random.  Let's start the quiz with saponification.  I think it really sets the tone for the night.  Round 2: That's Numberwang!!  I think that once you guys got past the first few and figured out what was going on, you had lots of fun with this round.  Plus, who doesn't love Monty Python and the Holy Grail?  Classic!  Round 3: Flanders, Fields, and Flanders Fields.  This brought out our first answer that was EMF.  See??  I am nice.  I gave you one of the answers to a later round.  You're welcome. I take presents of appreciation by the way.  Teehee.  Round 4: But I'm Ugly On The Inside.  I was impressed with the majority of you on this round.  There were a few that I wouldn't have known at all.  And I love my bad guys.

Round 5: This Round Is a Fib-Breeze.  A round about liars and air fresheners.  Do you know the way that I remember to pronounce Kujau???  I told myself that it rhymes with "poo cow."  See, again I have the sense of humor of a fourth grader.  Round 6: All the News that Shits.  I love rounds about headlines.  Particularly the clever headlines that the New York Post can come up with.  Cloak and shag her?  Ho no!  Let the hilarity ensue.  Round 7: Expect the Unexpected.  Here we saw EMF again!  Surprise!  Round 8: Specific Things In Ancient History.  Yes, this round was my real April Fool's Day prank.  I'm sorry for those of you that missed that part of the announcement.  You must have been super confused once I started reading the questions.  I did however get to talk about the Pope and Marky Mark in the same round and I'm pretty sure that's a first for me.

It was wonderful spending time with you last night.  I truly hope that I can see you again soon.  Say... next Tuesday?  8?  Same place?  Will you where that red dress I like so much?  Oh! Err... umm... I should be telling you that the big winners of the night was Wall Of Voodoo!  Congrats you guys!  Overall, it was a bit of a tough quiz.  But we all got through it together.  So until next time my little quiz bunnies... Lean on me.

  Robbi xoxo
