Quiz Schedule
Tuesday nights at Luke's Icehouse in Beaumont, Texas
Robbi (Plucky, Robbizombie)

I'm a quiz mistress with a dash of sass.  I'm endowed with the gift of gab.  Add a microphone and an ice cold Lone Star and it's a recipe for quizzing madness!  I'm proud to be the original Quiz Master for Southeast Texas and I look forward to meeting all of you.  For fun I like training roller girls and poking dead stuff with sticks.  Come on out to the most fun you can have on a Tuesday.  Bring a friend, you're going to need one!

So, it was a beautiful night to be out on the patio at everyone's favorite quiz venue!  I was happy to see you... all of you.  I hate to brag, but I even had a team write a limerick for me in honor of Round 6.  I thought it should be included on the recap.  Here goes, "There once was a hostess named Robbi.  She never took shit off nobody.  Her players sought fame, their answers were lame.  She shot them down in flames."  Thanks you guys.  You really captured my essence.

Round 1: First Things First... each answer contains an ordinal number-- and yes, the numbers go up.  I still maintain that Donnie Wahlberg in the Sixth Sense was a super scary dude.  He's the stuff nightmares are made of... to this very day.  Round 2: Off to See the Wizard.  This was a good round for most teams.  Once you got the hang of the theme for the round that is.  Congrats to those of you that knew Monkey Wrench.  I totally rock that on Guitar Hero as Judy Nails.  Elton John is always a crowd pleaser as well.  Round 3: Not to be Confused with Barack L. Obama.  This round went better than I originally expected.  Thanks for listening to the instructions.  You all impressed me with your presidential knowledge.  Round 4: Ok, You Can Cry For Me a Little... a round on Argentina.  This was not a kind round for some of you.  But I will say that most teams got the Eva Peron question.  Make a Madonna movie about the person and apparently they are worth knowing.  Good to know.

Round 5: Regrets... I've Had a Few.  Good to know that most of you still remember Better Off Dead.  I personally love that movie.  It's a shame that John Cusack doesn't.  Glitter was just a train wreck.  Period.  I didn't even bother seeing it.  Round 6: There Once Was a Film From Nantucket... name the movie from the plot-summary limerick.  Ninja Turtles!  I like turtles.  Glad I could make some of your nights with this round.  It was great all around.  It made my heart smile.  Round 7: The Toilet Express... name the fast-food chains from these commercials, featuring some of their most disgusting recent items.  What a great round!  It has been a while since I have seen scores this high for round 7.  But this round totally made me hungry.  Round 8: Random Knowledge.  Where my Jews at??  That was a tougher question than I anticipated.  Baobab is a real type of tree.  Look it up.  I had to.

This was the first time in a while that my leader did not change all night.  Dump Dynasty dominated tonight.  Way to go guys!  I hope that champagne was delicious.  Professors and We Always Finish rounded out the top three.  But it was a close chase.  Can't wait to see you all next week.  Until then my quiz bunnies... my heart will go on.

  Robbi xoxo

What a humid evening for us to be together.  I was so happy to see so many of you venture out in boggy weather to visit with me.  Surely you came just to see me... it couldn't be the great drinks and the chance of winning it big on the quiz scene.  Nah... it's definitely me.  Thank you for making my job the best in the world.

Round 1: Eight Quick, East Questions on Fall... or Autumn.  Whichever you prefer.  I love watching the Great Pumpkin around this time of year.  It's simply a classic.  I've never heard of the Harvest Moon game.  I never have really been able to wrap my mind around the alure of farming games.  Seems like a great deal of work to me.  Hmm.  Round 2: Working Musicians... in which every artist surname is also an occupation- or at least a homonym.  I think some of you are confused on the meaning of homonym.  Just judging from a few of the answers I got.  Carpenters emerge again, looking down on all of us.  Those judgemental jerks.  Round 3: This Round Is Golden... a 50/50 round on silence.  Speaking as a mother there are times when I adore silence.  Other times, it makes me suspicious.  Manhunter was a great movie.  Check it out if you haven't.  Round 4: Recently In Stuff... a round about current events.  The Molly Shannon bit where she is 50 is so great.  I truly hope she did that schtick today.  She's earned it.  What is so great about Minecraft?  My kids are addicts and I just don't see it.  Chalk it up with the farming games I guess.

Round 5; Famous Last Tweets.  This was tougher on you guys than I originally thought it would be.  But upon closer inspection, I would have sucked at this round.  Round 6: Let's Say Nice Things About Republicans.  Do we really have to?  At least the majority of you have a great sense of humor about the round.  For those that didn't.... sorry boutcha!  It's all in good fun.  I poke fun at everyone.  Round 7: Outside the Tardis... TV shows and movie clips featuring an actor from Doctor Who.  Again, I have never seen Doctor Who.  I must be missing out.  But I am currently reading World War Z and I've been impressed so far.  Round 8: Random Knowledge... everyone's favorite round.  It's about time that Justin Beiber is recognized for the too that he is.  I love Butters on South Park.  He's so cute and the episode where he kills people by tap dancing nearly made me pee myself.

Another night is history.  The winners came down to a tie-breaker question.  Love it when that happens.  My Dumps, My Dumps, My Lovely Lady Dumps were the victors.  Nicely played you guys.  Until next time my quiz bunnies... oh baby that's what I like.

What a steamy night on the patio.  It was sticky, hot and... hilarious!  If it weren't for the mosquitos, I would say it was like my first time.  I hope you all had as much fun as I did.  Here's a brief recap of how the night went.

Round 1: Brick by Brick... a round on the buildings you can put together with official Lego sets.  Everything is awesome!!  I totally want to build the Arkham Asylum set.  I'm a total nerd and I'm proud.  I do have the Death Star set.  Just saying.  Round 2: God Hates Parodies... name that cover from the Westboro Bastards.  Do they even truly know what it means to be happy?  They shouldn't be able to cover that song.  Sigh.  They are such jerks.  I will say that Melissa Etheridge was the most commonly missed song of the night.  Round 3: Capital Letters... you have two and a half minutes to name eight of the nine most common beginning letters to state capitals.  Wow.  I had no idea that there were so many common letters.  I would have bombed this round.  Round 4: The Weird-Ass World of Kid Lit... I give you the publication year and a brief, twisted synopsis, you name the book.  I've never looked at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in this way.  Weird.  Yes, the boy in the Secret Garden had a fucked-up spine.

Round 5: Dick Picks... you name the private dick that is pictured.  I was not looking for actors, movies, or tv shows.  Kojak was so smooth.  I don't care who you are, that man had game.  Round 6; Tic Talk... a round on tics of all sorts.  What what??  A Pink Floyd question and an arachnid question in one round?  Have I died and gone to heaven? Can we talk?  Is it too early for a Joan Rivers question?  Round 7: Let Me Sing My Jokes For You... name the comedian or the group.  I have to say that I'm totally digging on the hand job song.  I may put it in the playlist for next week.  This round was tough on some of you though.  So sorry to hear that.  You need to take more time to laugh.  Round 8: Random Knowledge.  Wow!!  What a difficult round.  How in the world does the Post Master General make more money that the next two guys in line for the presidency?  That makes no sense.  What the hell does he do anyway?  I was super excited to announce George Takei's perfume line though.

What a great group we had out tonight.  I didn't see any cheaters, and Stammtisch returned!!  They even took second place.  Ich Bin Ein Abandoned took the top honors again this week!  Way to go darlings!  Can't wait to see you all again next week.  Until then my quiz bunnies... she broke my heart in the trailer park.

  Robbi xoxo
