Hello!

I started playing quiz with GWD at the Maple Leaf Pub. I heard they were in search of quizmasters and decided to audition. I am quite the social butterfly. so I figured: meet new people, free booze, and quiz. What more could a girl ask for?

By day, I am a middle school Industrial Technology Teacher- yes 12-14 year olds and power tools. I'm an Aggie (WHOOP!), a dog lover, and a scorpio. My favorite color is purple and one day I hope to venture to Costa Rica, Italy, and Australia. That's me in a nutshell.

Well we had a very low turn out tonight but 3 of our regular teams were absent and all of tonight's teams were Kelvin first time players. In fact, we didn't even have an email bonus winner :(

R1 - Well we had some Mississippi question here. What MS round wouldn't be complete without questions about Ole Miss and the Stars and Bars?

R2 - Bad bad parodies of some mediocre songs... And as wonderful as their version is, Smashmouth was NOT the original artist behind I'm a Believer, thanks Shrek.

R3 - Speed Rounds are fun! Uncle Brian's Team knows their Jackson's and got all 8 right. The rest of you just spouted out a bunch of J names...E for effort.

R4 - This mystery round had clues that eventually led to all roles played by Christopher Lloyd, a man I believe is not recognized enough for his mad acting skills.

R5 - Seal-O Green...hehehe Match the Animal to the correct singer/band was the name of the game in our visual round tonight.

R6 - Shakespeare, another topic we must brush up on apparently. Scores weren't the greatest here.

R7 - Shows with the word Girls in them. I thought this round was rather easy but I guess my Kelvin quizzies didn't. People wanted to put Gilmore Girls for everything except the right one.

R8 - Random Knowledge - You had a couple multiple choice questions here which is always nice in a round 8. Way to go Yeah, Bitch! Magnets, you got 15/16 on this round.

To all of you newbies, I hope you had fun tonight. We only have two more quizzes at Kelvin Arms but Geeks Who Drink are still going strong in H town so check the website for other great venues!

Thanks for coming out, see y'all next Wednesday! :)

Even though it was raining, we had a great turn out tonight. Plus I saw a beautiful rainbow on my way here so I knew it would be a good quiz.

R1 - Pop Culture Will Eat Itself - In this round, each question related to another one.

R2 - A Speed Round on Speed - Not only did this audio round feature songs about fast travel, but we also sped up the choruses. Very Alvin and the Chipmunks-esque.

R3 - World War I, II, or Z - As a teacher, one of my biggest pet peeves are blanks on a multiple choice questions. At least if you guessed you would have had a 33% chance.

R4 - Answer as the Romans Do - Each answer contained only letters that could have also been a roman numeral. I always laughed as a kid when I saw DIC on the screen.

R5 - Life is a Highway - Cool cars from cool movies. FYI just because its on fire, it doesn't mean its ghost rider.

R6 - Is this a Kitchen or a Hazardous Waste Site? - Yummy yummy Banana Bread! Hops are degraded by UV not yeast and fish, not pork cause Scromboid.

R7 - President Von Awesomestein - This audio round featured various "presidents" speaking. I thouroughly enjoyed the great advice given by Chris Rock. America, knock out your kids!

R8 - Random Knowledge - Head Lice and Pubic lice are different species, they have different appendages on the legs to cling to the different hair types. I took a medical entomology class in college. Also, dog fleas and cat fleas are different. Most knew Harry Potter and Star Wars but thankfully James Bond grossed more than the Twilight Series.

We had one of my regular teams from Christian's tonight because they couldn't make it last night. Glad to have y'all! Favorite team name tonight - Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies.

Thanks for coming out, see y'all next Wednesday! :)

I was worried that it may not be a good turn out between the weather and it was completely dead until about 5 minutes before quiz. Thank goodness for last minute arrivals.

R1 - This round was all about stuff happening recently. Anderson Cooper, Home Run Derby, Google...same ol' same old

R2 - This audio round brought us songs about somgs through the decades. We started in 1940's and came all the way to the present with two versions of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.

R3 - The infamous say when round. Tonight it was all about Language, Violence, and Demon Rape. We had some premature stopping. Nobody got My Girl because once they heard Poetry Teacher everyone automatically thought I was talking about Mr. Robin Williams in Dead Poet's Society.

R4 - Who enjoyed Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Not I. Maybe if I had read it first, maybe?

R5 - This visual round was all things space. Angry Birds and Great Gazoo, I'm in.

R6 - I love the Beatles and I give major props to those who did well on this round. The rest of y'all need to study up. If you got the lyrics, the rest was a cinch.

R7 - When isn't Harrison Ford pissed? Some of these were easy, some nobody knew. Round high was 5.

R8 - Random Knowledge - Cockapoo, cockatoo, Yuengling, we're done.

Had several first timers. Glad to have y'all out. Keep on playing!!!!

Thanks for coming out, see y'all next Wednesday! :)
