Despite some minor snags tonight was a rousing success.  We had some teams new to GWD and some wily veterans.  I had to improv some latger rounds due to technical difficulties but all rounds were completed and a good time was had by all.  Four great teams braved some late rain to quiz one Tuesday night.  One lone and self-described odd guy stayed strong through eight rounds, but still finished last.  He had tough competition against the wily veterans that made up Something Something Ebola Something that took first.  There were two other teams that rounded out the competition last evening and they both put up the good fight.  Round 6 about defunct countries was the most difficult for all the teams, but in round 8 most teams had solid scores.  Jokers in the second round really helped lead team Ebola to the win.  The Hamilton Inn staff is great, and I look forward to many great eveneing of quiz.

Nice to see you!  My name is Kerry, and I am a textile designer in Jersey City.  I live in the hood with my two cats, Bruno and Bolshevik.  I spend most of my free time knitting, cooking, and watching cartoons.  My current geeky obsessions are Dr. Who and Dune.  I'm also a die hard H2G2 fan.  I'm a bit of a spazz.  Come to my house if you like Seafood, Cat hair, and utter disorganization, but come to my quiz if you like people making fools of themselves on a mic, girls making dick jokes to a room full of strangers, and getting drunk enough to think you're funny!  See you there!

Despite the best efforts of our rowdy Australian friends, it was a quiet night at Hamilton, probably because it was a technical Monday, and no one likes Monday.  But even so, tensions were high, as the gay contingent battled it out over recently in stuff.  I've looked it up EVERYWHERE...unfortunately it's still at 29 plus the District of Columbia...but, hey, it'll be 50 before you know it!  QM Justin saved the day with surprise visual rounds in the second half, Thanks Justin!  Anyway, Gin & Phonics once again takes first place, mostly owing to their impressive knowledge of craft beers. Congrats, Gin and Phonics!

Nice to see literally all of you at once last night! I had a lot of new faces, some more enthusiastic than others (I’m looking at you, Oysterclub), but all as competitive as could be. Except Me, but he doesn't have to be smart, because he's pretty.

So my computer didn't want to cooperate with us at first, but it all worked out anyway, and actually, I kind of liked the wall-of-audio-rounds. It made for some nice grading time, which is difficult to come by with 16 teams. Speaking of audio, I'm sure you guys would have just preferred my little laptop refused to play any MP3's at all, because that was a hard one. Hey look, that's what she said!

Our round on presidents went only slightly better, thoroughly destroying my faith in the American education system. Freidrich D. Roosevelt? Really? Also, I looked it up: Thomas Jefferson did not have a middle name. And to add insult to injury, as we often remind you, just "Bush" is not gonna cut it in the Jeopardy!-Style Last Names Only System of Trivia Scoring (TM)

I may not be able to play, but I do think I won the title of Most Embarrassed Person Ever when I had to read 8 profanity-laden limericks, like, 20 times. Just kidding, you should see me on Friday nights. NOTHING embarrasses me. And hey, it's you all who should be embarrassed, because fully half of you think Ireland is in the UK. Somewhere, there is a leprechaun crying in his Guinness.

Anyway, Les Quizerables wins my unofficial team name contest, Making Mad Dolo wins overall with the most points ever, and Gin and Phonics remain tied with Sometimes Haters Gotta Point in second place. And shouts to 4zy Quatozy for not winning at all, but for being new and super enthusiastic and trying to confuse me all night.

Thanks everyone for sticking it out to the end, I know it was a school night, but join us next week for another exciting (and definitely well-timed) quiz!
